In the US, FDA 510(k) clearance is available for facilitating confirmation of the position of the breathing tube qXR-BT, automated cardiothoracic ratio measurements qXR-CTR, enhanced lung nodule detection qXR-LN. qXR has been cleared to triage pneumothorax (PTX) and pleural effusion (PE), which present severe challenges in emergency rooms and intensive care units (ICUs).

Data characteristics

qXR-BT: Generate a secondary digital chest Xray image that facilitates confirmation of the position of a breathing tube and an anatomical landmark on adult chest X-rays
qXR-PTX-PE: Analyze images for features suggestive of critical findings and provides case-level output available in the PACS/workstation for worklist prioritization or triage
qXR-CTR: Measure the ratio of the maximal transverse diameter of the heart (CD) and the maximal inner transverse diameter (TD) of the thoracic cavity and calculate the CTR value on posterioranterior view chest view using an artificial intelligence algorithm
qXR-LN: Detection software to identify and mark regions in relation to suspected pulmonary nodules from 6 to 30 mm in size
